A 2 day mini break with a difference. Here at Mountain Sense, we have fond memories of our first nights spent in a snow hole. You will too, but hopefully for different reasons!!! Learn how to spend a comfortable night in your own self-dug snow cave, whilst blizzard conditions pummel the mountain outside.

The course covers planning your expedition, judging likely snowhole sites with regard to recent weather conditions and choosing the best site to start digging! You will be shown different design concepts for your hole and how these can be adapted for different numbers in your party. We will explain all the essential gear you will need to survive the night and those little luxury extras which add massively to your confort level. Overall a great experience and great preparation if you are considering progressing onto the Winter Mountain Leader Scheme.
