The reality is that under winter conditions, the UK mountains can be killers. With temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees and visibility down to the end of your nose, the ability to stay on track and away from danger is not just an advantage, but essential.

This course takes mountain navigation to the limit and after completion you will have the confidence of knowing you can operate more safely under some of the harshest conditions in the world. We show you how to navigate confidently across featureless plateaus to arrive at a known point with zero visibity and deep snow underfoot. The course will aim to demonstrate the importance of good judgment, effective navigation strategies and good old fashioned map and compass work.

Previous experience required: Some winter walking experience and confident navigating in summer
