Scrambling bridges the gap between walking and climbing. It is an excellent and spectacular way to reach a mountain summit or explore further away from the usual mountain paths. Scrambles range from easy but spectacular rocky walking to harder, steeper movement over rock that requires some climbing ability and occasionally the security of a rope. Due to overwhelming demand last season we are again running courses on Skye in May 2011. If you have always wanted to climb the UK's most spectacular mountains with an expert guide, then our Skye Scrambles weeks are not to be missed.
Designed for people with some hill walking experience, who are keen to tackle simple rocky sections of mountain routes. You need not be particularly fit nor agile to try scrambling, just keen to try this more exciting branch of mountain travel.
It is envisaged you will already have experience of lower grade scrambles and are looking to progress on to more difficult scrambling terrain. This course is for people who may feel they lack the technical knowledge or confidence to tackle more demanding scrambles.
The Scrambler to Climber course 'does what it says on the tin'. It is aimed at scramblers looking to gain the knowledge and skills to allow them to more safely tackle scrambles and very easy rock climbs. Routes with short but serious sections, where basic climbing knowledge would add greatly to the safety of the scramblers.
