First Aid Courses

Mountain Sense specialises in First Aid Courses specific to Outdoor Professionals.  Our First Aid Trainers are members of one of the most active Mountain Rescue Teams in the UK and are dealing with real first aid situations on a very regular basis. The skills we teach on this very practical course are based on our own experiences in delivering first aid in remote and mountainous environments.

Outdoor First Aid

Run over two days this 16 hour, outdoor specific first aid course is recognised by all National Governing Bodies including the MLTE, BMG, MLTUK and the BCU to endorse their instructor qualifications.

First Aid at Work

As an HSE approved First Aid at Work provider, Mountain Sense can deliver this course for your organisation. From October 2009 the course has become a three day course including assessment, with a 3 hour refresher required each year and a 12 hour re-qualification within three years.

This three day course (including assessment) is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive.  Successful candidates will receive a full HSE First Aid at Work Certificate upon completion.  (Valid for three years).

Remote Casualty Care

This one day course is intended as a 'bolt on' module to either the Outdoor First Aid or First Aid at Work course.  You will learn to deal with the added complications faced in Mountain Rescue situations including casualty extraction and advanced airway management,  working with Search and Rescue Helicopters/Local Teams and Dogs.
